Capcom XBLA game in NON-SHIT SHOCKA!

Oh yes. It's good. Rather good. In fact, very good indeed.

When the Backbone team made Capcom two glitchy, very sterile, mundane games based on their IP, I had no hope for Bionic Commando: Rearmed, or the new sequel still in the works. I thought Capcom may have just whored out their IP to another shitty developer.

If Rearmed is anything to go by, the guys at GRIN are anything but.

It feels like the Bionic Commando of old, they seem to have real respect for the original material, the images, the sounds, the references (respect the Yashichi!)... All feel like how a Capcom game should... Even the extra bits they added that weren't in the NES version dont feel clunky or out of place in any way.

Even the minigame section where you run into enemy trucks, where for all of a couple of minutes, the game turns into a tribute to the original Commando, manages to feel more like Commando than Commando 3 did, whilst adding neat little references to Super Joe (Star of the original Commando, The arcade version of Bionic Commando, and the guy you have to save in the NES version/Rearmed)

I now have higher hopes for the full price sequel, here's hoping GRIN don't let me down.
