Whale II, Electric Boogaloo.

Ok, so a mornings Whale Watch on Sky ended up becoming the channels entire output all day, and to top it all, not to be outdone, BBC News 24 also went into hardcore whale coverage by the time "The Mammal" (as the journalists like to call it), was hoisted onto a boat and given a lift down river. As I type now, at 1:15 in the morning, both channels are still going on about it, and the thing's been dead for hours.

No doubt we will be seing 20 page spreads in the tabloids about "The Whale of Hearts" for the next few days, too.

Sorry, I couldn't resist the obvious play on words...

When comedy becomes reality

Over 10 years ago, Chris Morris created the excellent "On The Hour", and "The Day Today", Lampooning News production. Over time, the line between that comedy and the presentation of the news has blurred, and now every major media outlet and their dog has a 24 hour news channel.

This morning, While BBC News 24 were concentrating on what many people would consider "important" News such as the Iraqi negotiations, Sky News began reporting on the most unintentionally funny, and Chris Morris-like news story ever, whats even funnier, they decide to stay on the story ALL FUCKING MORNING.
