Next week, hopefully via a speedy courier, I will have a copy of the 360 version of Ghostbusters The Video Game. The amount of intestinal fortitude it took to wait to find out it was region free, and not blow money I cant afford for a PS3, was worth it. Probably.
I could have pirated the PC version, but Atari have used quite drastic anti-piracy measures on this title, by cutting the multiplayer game that’s available on the consoles, and unoptimizing it so the minimum requirements are slightly higher than you’d expect.
It appears that that tactic is working rather too well, as it seems to be turning off people from legitimately buying the game on that platform, too.
You’d think, what with Atari in enough financial straights to need to abandon it’s operations in Europe, that they’d want to make some money at the moment, not piss it away releasing a substandard version of a game on one platform.
