Your GTA IV Questions answered!

Since managing to obtain a legitimate copy of GTA IV on Friday, I've been getting all sorts of random messages from complete strangers on Xbox Live, who want to be my "friend".

...And many questions, too! I thought it would be a good Idea to answer a select handful here, so that no more of you cunts fucking harass me while I'm playing.

1. WHERE DID YOU DOWNLOAD IT?

I downloaded it on a special network outside of the internet, called "real life". I uploaded "money" into someone's hand and they downloaded a disk into mine.

2. HOW ARE YOU PLAYING GTA4?

With a joypad. Just a regular Xbox wireless one. I did try a Wiimote, but for some reason it didn't work.

3. HELP ME HELP ME, MY BROTHER'S AUNT'S DOG'S HOUSEMATE TOLD ME I'M GOIGN TO GET BANNED FROM XBOX LIVE FOR PLAYING IT EARLY OH HELP ME, HELP ME PLEASE! KTHXBYE!

Who do you think I am? Superman? Want me to fly around the world at super speed the wrong way and turn back time, maybe?

If your copy is an original, legitimate copy, there is nothing MS can do, and there would be hell to pay if they did. Whichever retailer who sold it to you may possibly get into a bit of hot water if someone reported them for breaking the release date, but you'll be fine. If you are dirty, filthy pirate scum... on the other hand, I have no sympathy. I hope Rockstar find you and cut your toes off.

I'm still playing through condemned 2 and fifa so it doesn't bother me too much. Still, constantly being told how awesome it is and how it's 'the first game to demonstrate the power of next-gen' oh, and all the news coverage is rubbing it in just a bit.

'the first game to demonstrate the power of next-gen'?

People have actually said that?

Well that's bollocks.

As much as I've been enjoying it, it's not a perfect 10 that stupid reviewers claim. Combat can be clunky, Difficulty in missions go from piss easy to HOW IN FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THIS? with no curve, and if you end up having to do a mission that puts you in a dimly lit alleyway, and the sun has gone down, you will see another side to the "amazing lighting", because you cant see fuck all.

GTA IV is good because in a time where nearly every game has to be some kind of "interactive movie" (and usually fails miserably), It's incredibly well written, and the attention to detail is astounding, and with the amount of crap you can do in it, you can forgive it's shortcomings, which DO EXIST, because it's not fucking perfect!

In all honesty, the first game to demonstrate the power of next gen to me was Dead Rising. Driving through an underground car park while running over hordes of zombies numbering in the hundreds.

yea, I think it was The Sun, whos word I never usually take literally. It's like 'oh it's so controversial!''There's drugs and killing in it!' 'kid stabbed for buyin game!' etc, etc.

I agree, it is not perfect at all. Most missions you will have to do 2-3 times because you have no clue what is going to happen and how to finish the mission.
The graphics are not that good either, i hate that crappy blurr/distort effect that seems to start at 10m from you and fades to a complete mess further away.
The only 10/10 i give it is for the hillarious characters, dialects and the story. The satire of 'street life' and american pop culture is just great.

I actually tried to buy it the other day, FAT CHANCE! Unless you own a ps3, in which case virgin (or whatever it's called) has loads left. They're selling it for £50 though!!!
