C is for Cookie, thats good enough for me.

Ok, this little gem of a screenshot turned up in the middle of Famitsu's coverage of SF IV, By mixing two loves of my life, Muppets and Street Fighter, this game can be utter shit (...lets face it, it probably will be), and I won't care.

It's being developed in Japan though. I'm glad they didn't let the Yanks have a go. They messed up Capcom Fighting Jam.

You're probably right though. It will be a disaster. Capcom Japan's track record is good though. I can't think of their last bad game to be honest.

It'll probably turn out that some small 3rd party company has made it under license for Capcom though.

Also, Ryu and Ken look a bit like spacks.

Actually... Capcom Fighting Jam was made by those Crazy Japanesers, too. Not only that, the producer of it, Yoshinori Ono, is... um... heading up development on Street Fighter IV.

There are videos of him on 1up.com being interviewed about it, being incredibly Japanese about it all, apologising profusely about how shit it was and promising this will be better.

We wait. With baited breath.

...And yes. they do look like spacks.

Like the man in the orthopaedic shoes, I stand corrected.

Are you sure that Yoshinori fella wasn't just heading up an American dev team though?

I'm sure I read somewhere that the SF franchise had been handed over to Capcom U.S.A. Seeing as Udon has already done Puzzle Fighter and are handling the art for SF2HD I assumed this to be true.

Also, on a previous post, you're right about SF3. I thought it was ace. Some characters were a bit questionable, but it had great depth. I still play it a lot today.

I get the distinct feeling theres a whole lot more to the situation than the standard fanboyism that "Capcom USA bought the rights" - for a start, Cap USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cap Japan anyway.

My guess is they have control of the copyright for licensing purposes, It makes sense when you see all the toys/comics/merchandising still made in the west.

Notice that USA seem to only be making remakes, and not working on new original titles... Bright Idea considering the shit they have developed.

Those 1Up videos confirm the green light for SFIV was given in Japan by Keiji Inafune, who is apparently now the head of Capcom R&D when hes not making Mega Man and Dead Rising.

I'll take your word for it then. You seem to have done research and everything.
